July 2014 Reading Queue

June is over and now it's really, really summer.  It's also the half year mark for all the reading challenges.  So my focus of July is getting reading challenges caught up.  I am not doing so hot on my own reading challenge (D.O.T.S.) and I need to focus...focus...FOCUS!

Reading Queue is a meme hosted by Book Tasty and Books: A True Story.  Click the covers to read more about the books I list below.
What is the reading queue all about?
Reading Queue is a monthly meme where you share what books you plan to read for the month. You can hop to other blogs and see what others are reading and maybe find someone reading the same thing as you! Or you can ask for people to vote on what you should read next if you can’t decide.

So here is what I have lined up for the rest of July.

Book Club Pick for July
Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?
by Mindy Kaling
Mindy Kaling has lived many lives: the obedient child of immigrant professionals, a timid chubster afraid of her own bike, a Ben Affleck–impersonating Off-Broadway performer and playwright, and, finally, a comedy writer and actress prone to starting fights with her friends and coworkers with the sentence “Can I just say one last thing about this, and then I swear I’ll shut up about it?”
Perhaps you want to know what Mindy thinks makes a great best friend (someone who will fill your prescription in the middle of the night), or what makes a great guy (one who is aware of all elderly people in any room at any time and acts accordingly), or what is the perfect amount of fame (so famous you can never get convicted of murder in a court of law), or how to maintain a trim figure (you will not find that information in these pages). If so, you’ve come to the right book, mostly!
In Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?, Mindy invites readers on a tour of her life and her unscientific observations on romance, friendship, and Hollywood, with several conveniently placed stopping points for you to run errands and make phone calls. Mindy Kaling really is just a Girl Next Door—not so much literally anywhere in the continental United States, but definitely if you live in India or Sri Lanka.

Strategic Planning for Love and War
Do you want a relationship worth having? Get the help you need with Relationships and Adult Conversations, Strategic Planning for Love & War with a musical twist. The first ever...Strategic Planning for Love and War is not only a book; it's an experience that pairs life's relationships with a soulful backdrop of the best R&B music from the past 30 years. For every relationship high and low, there is a song that tells the story. Money, sex, danger, hurt, healing, the things people won't talk about, and life issues of all kinds are addressed. For those single, dating, married, divorced, looking, or anywhere in between, it's all in here. Get to the heart of why people struggle, why men and women see love and relationships differently, and what to do about it. Let the rhythm get into you. Through Relationships and Adult Conversations, have the greatest love of all.
I have had this book for a year.  This will be an interesting read and it will cover a few reading challenges.  Oh and this one is for review too!

These three books will go toward my D.O.T.S. reading challenge along with a few other reading challenges that I am working on.
