Book Description

The third installment in the mesmerizing series from the irrepressible, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater.
Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.
The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost.
Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.
In a starred review, THE BULLETIN called THE DREAM THIEVES, the previous book in The Raven Cycle, "a complex web of magical intrigue and heart-stopping action." Now, with BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE, the web becomes even more complex, snaring readers at every turn.

Review

I think this is the last book in the series (or maybe not.  It's YA after all).  It's so hard to tell.  This is the third book in the Raven Cycle and Blue along with the her friends are still on the hunt for Cabeswater.  I am going to make every single effort not to spoil it for you but you do know it will not be easy for book three in a series.
My most favorite character in the series is Blue Sargent with her snappy side comments.  I love her wit and humor and with Will Patton's voice making her seem dry it adds to the funny for me.  This book seemed to have a little less Blue in it and I missed it.  I miss Blue's house full of physic women, their antics and oddities form book one.  There was just something likeable about each and everyone in the house.
I just don't know.  I had such high hopes for this book.  I liked The Raven Boys and was just so-so about The Dream Thieves.  This one just didn't do it for me.
For some crazy reason, I felt lost and I think it had to do with the lack of time placement throughout the books. I have no idea how long the story took to happen.  A month, a week, over the summer.  From one day to the next there were no references to help me along the way.  No real constistant references to how long things were taking to happen as well.  School started and then they were in class but is this just about the first week of school.  What is going on around them?  I just felt so lost in this book.  Time was just mushed together and it felt like it was two or three long ass days.
I love Will Patton as a narrator for this series and I think this is such a good book for him to read but this one seemed to miss a bit of the emotion of the other books.  There was a lot going on story-wiseNew characters are added to the plot and they were not (in my opinion) moving the story forward.  They are just added to make a few odd, and funny statements.
Sorry to say but this one did not do it for me.  The pace was slower, there are a few new non important characters, and lack of time placements killed it for me.  I would however read another book by this author and if there is another book in the series I would read it with the hope of it being better than this one.
